It has really hit home to me that we are in a revolution where the old ways are dying and the replacement ways aren’t known yet. I suspect that this revolution will continue past my age of productivity, or even my lifetime. What we “professional” photographers are faced with is a career-threatening change that is accelerating rapidly and for which there are no certain answers.

Most likely, you have emotional wounds that must be healed before you can contact your ex and take actions to save your relationship. Taking a month away from your ex will offer you enough time to recover emotionally from the breakup. Resist every temptation to call your ex, email them, or contact them in any other methods during this time. I know you’re worried but your ex will not forget about you in a month. Intimacy takes time to build and fade, so a month will not be enough time for intimacy to go away.

Have a talented family member take your photos. Nowadays because of digital cameras and photo editors, it is more possible than ever for an average person to take great pictures.

You could also read some good books that you’ve been delaying such as books by Haruki Murakami and Ernest Hemingway. You can also study a new language like Spanish, or enroll in a photography class to become the next Ansel Adams.

If you are looking for someone to come to you for a photo shoot then hiring a professional portrait photographer would be a great idea for you. They will come to you with their equipment and will be ready to set up at the location you have picked out for your photos. If you prefer they will usually have their own studio that you can come to for your photo session also.

Next, set your aperture (increase your f-stop number) and take test shots and see how they turn out. This is where the trial and error comes in. I usually set my f-stop around 10 or higher, when I do have it set. But then again, I always use bulb mode.

Incorporating paper from old books into some of my jewelry is another avenue I am exploring. I have had a collection of old books since I was a kid. I always loved antique books and they have gone with me throughout my life traveling from one place to another. I finally decided that instead of just dusting them off, why not actually use them. In my shop, Lisa’s Urban Nostalgia, I have a few pieces listed with paper that’s one hundred and two years old. So it’s like getting a piece of history.
